How to use it
Paste the script
Write it the way you speak: short sentences, the words you’d use across a table. The box remembers your text on this device.
Set the pace
140 to 160 words per minute reads like conversation. Start a notch slower than feels right; you can change speed while it scrolls.
Read to the line
Keep your eyes on the marker line and let the text come to you. Pause with the space bar whenever you need a beat.
Recording on your phone? The script can be your subtitles too.
The Titro app has this same teleprompter built into the camera: the script scrolls near the lens while you record, and the subtitles come word for word from your text, timed to your voice. No transcription, no names spelled wrong.
Questions
Is this teleprompter really free?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser: no sign-up, no watermark, no time limit, and your text never leaves your device.
Does it work on iPad, Mac and phones?
Yes. It’s a web page, so it runs in any modern browser: iPhone, Android, iPad, Mac or PC. Put the device as close to the lens as you can and start.
What speed should I set?
Normal conversation sits around 140 to 160 words per minute. Nerves push you faster, so start slower than feels natural. There’s a full guide in how to read a teleprompter.
What is the mirror switch for?
Beam-splitter teleprompters bounce the screen off a piece of glass in front of the lens, which flips the text. Mirror flips it back.
What’s different in the Titro app?
The app puts the same prompter on the front camera and records: you read, it films, and the subtitles come word for word from your script. The details are on the teleprompter app page.
